Caitlin Clark’s dad, Brent, was not happy about her complaining to officials during Iowa‘s NCAA tournament opener on Saturday.

Despite leading comfortably for most of their game against Holy Cross, Clark’s frustration with the officiating became apparent early on.

The Iowa star was jawing at a referee at halftime despite having an 18-point lead. Clark also took out her frustration by head-butting the ball at one point.

Late in the third quarter, the broadcast caught Clark complaining to somebody in the crowd. The cameras then cut to Brent, who appeared to yell at her from his seat.

He then shakes his head and appears to mouth words under his breath.

Clark led the Hawkeyes to a 91-65 blowout with 27 points, eight rebounds, and ten assists. Kate Martin also recorded a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds.

Addison O’Grady came off the bench for Iowa and tallied 14 points and five rebounds, while Gabbie Marshall contributed 11 points to the dominant performance.

Clark and the Hawkeyes had a strong start to the tournament after a 29-4 regular season saw them finish second in the Big Ten.

On March 3, Clark broke Pete Maravich’s all-time NCAA scoring record. In a game against Ohio State, Clark surpassed Pistol Pete’s 3,667 career points by reaching 3,685.

The record stood over 50 years until Clark’s 35-point performance against the Buckeyes.

Iowa awaits the winner between West Virginia and Princeton in the second round as they look to avenge their championship game loss to LSU last year.
