And now a new 50-minute documentary takes viewers behind-the-scenes of the hit fantasy.
A Hero’s Journey: The Making of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which is now available to stream on Disney+, gives fans an insight into the show’s young stars.
Featuring Walker Scobell, 14, as the title character, the original eight-part series centres around the hero’s discovery that stories of the Greek Gods he knows from storybooks are real.
Percy is put the test as a demigod alongside his friends Annabeth, played by 14-year-old Leah Sava Jeffries, and Grover, portrayed by 17-year-old Aryan Simhadri,
A new trailer for the ‘making of’ reveals how the school-age actors bonded while filming the series.
Also featured in the teaser are scenes of the young actors training with swords for the show’s many action scenes.
Elsewhere, the actors are seen shooting scenes in a giant artificial ‘lake’ and performing stunts.

Based on the books by Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson and the Olympians has been an instant hit on the streaming giant since it dropped in December.

Episode one of the series managed to grab 26.2million views in its first three weeks.
The show was created by Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg and follows two films – The Lightning Thief (2010) and Sea Of Monsters (2013) – each starring Logan Lerman as Percy.
There has also been a musical, The Lightning Thief, which ran from 2014 to 2019 both off-Broadway and on.
It also reveals how the school-age actors bonded while filming the series
