The Block’s first ever winning property sells for $1.4million – double the price it sold

The Sydney beachside flat that won the very first season of The Block for fan favourites Adam Thorn and Fiona Mills has been sold.

Situated in a leafy street in Bondi, the property was originally listed with a price guide of $1.4million.

But the two-bedroom, single bathroom ground floor apartment was sold off ahead of going to auction on October 7 reports The Daily Telegraph.

Located only minutes away from famed Bondi Beach, the two-bedroom, one bathroom ground floor unit originally sold on The Block in 2003 for $751,000.

Blockheads Adam and Fiona spent $40,000 renovating the apartment over 12 weeks and walked away with $256,000 after their successful auction on The Block.

The unit, which was last out leased out in 2019 for $750 a week, is in one of Sydney’s sought after neighbourhoods, and is only 7kms from the CBD.

It’s the only flat that has not been re-sold in the building since it was renovated for The Block twenty years ago.

Measuring 100square metres, the layout offers a spacious design with the kitchen and dining area opening out to a garden terrace and entertainment deck.

Other features include polished timber floors, a modern bathroom and internal laundry.

There’s also a private veranda and video intercom security.

Fiona and Adam were considered the show favourites and ultimately won the season.

The pair later released their own renovation book titled Adam and Fiona’s Renos On A Budget: How We Renovated Our Way To The Block.

Since then Adam has worked for Freedom Kitchens and Fiona built a career in the beauty industry.

Early in 2021, they purchased a Federation home in Coogee for $4.095 million with big renovation plans in mind, realestate.com.au reported.

They beat seven other bidders at an auction, with the sale starting at $3.6 million.
