Bill Maher demands Joe Biden bow out of the 2024 presidential race because ‘voters think

American comedian and television personality Bill Maher insisted on his show Friday that President Joe Biden is capable of doing his job despite his old age but should still drop out of the Presidential race.

Maher, 67, who hosts HBO‘s Real Time with Bill Maher also went on and said that Biden is the ‘only democrat who can lose to Trump’.

He branded the former president as an ‘insane ball of white hot anger’ that is perceived differently than Biden, even with their four-year age difference.

‘Someone has to convince President Biden that if he runs again, he’s going to turn the country back over to Trump and go [sic] and go down in history as Ruth Bader Biden, the person who doesn’t know when to quit and so does great damage to their party and their country,’ Maher said as he opened up his show.

President Joe Biden's age has been a concern for many Americans as he has decided to run for a second term

Former President Donald Trump is also running for the 2024 presidency after he lost to Biden in 2020

President Biden, 80, has made ‘generally good’ decisions according to Maher, but he also thinks that Donald Trump, 77, will still manage to beat Biden in 2024 ‘because he is always a ball of white hot anger’

On Friday's episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, Maher addressed President Biden's age and compared him to the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg that 'doesn't know when to quit and so does great damage to their party and their country'

As he went on, Maher said: ‘To those who say he beat Trump once, he’ll do it again. I say things change. They always do. The parade moves on. 2024 is not 2020 in so many key [sic] ways, including, yes, Biden being four years older.

‘You can be a national treasure and still be too old for the job. If I’m on a plane and the pilot says, “this is your captain, Buzz Aldrin.” I’m getting off.’

Maher, a Liberal, known for his dry, satirical comedy, is no stranger to American politics. He has invited many big names to his show as they sit down to discuss topical events.

‘All of us who like Joe Biden have been struggling lately with the political situation in the Democratic Party, an incumbent we admire who acquitted himself well in the first term, but who even members of his own party don’t want to see run for a second.

‘Despite a touching letter of recommendation from Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis. I kid. They shouldn’t have gotten s*** for that,’ said Maher.

As he got back on topic, Maher went on and said: ‘If you ask me, do I think Joe Biden can do the job of president? My answer is an unequivocal yes. He can do the job. Do I love everything? No. But that’s every president. But government work is done in small, quiet rooms like the Oval Office.’

He then touched on Biden’s ‘generally good decisions’ like getting the US out of Afghanistan, how he handled Ukraine, kept the economy going, and more.

The TV host then made it clear that he thinks that is all that Biden is capable of, just in one term, not two.

‘Because while he can do the job, what he can’t do is run for it. Our campaign season is long and it gets icy in New Hampshire,’ said Maher.

Besides mentioning Trump and Biden, he also went on to ridicule other political members, like 81-year-old Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnel.

‘Mitch McConnell has served Satan well. But when he starts buffering during this speech and it appears his soul is leaving his body. It’s time. I have made it a theme on this show to rail against ageism. The last acceptable prejudice in America.

‘I’ve tried to make the argument that judging by age is wrong because we all age so differently. Some people are old when they’re 45 and others are spry at 90, so it should always be a case by case basis. But the credibility of my argument against ageism rests on the honest calling out of people when it is time to go. That’s what case by case means at an event last weekend. Biden referred to L.L. Cool J as L.L.J. Cool J. Say what you want about Trump, but he remembers Kanye’s name,’ Maher added.

President Biden’s age has been a hot topic since the day he took office back in 2020, and now as he runs for a second term in 2024, the topic has been used as an argument for his ability.

‘But his age just doesn’t read like Biden’s. Maybe it’s because Trump is insane. Maybe it’s because he’s always a ball of white hot anger. But for whatever reason, he looks robust, and Joe looks like his own skeletal remains. Well, if if if [sic]  this was 1860 when Joe first ran. This would not be an issue. You didn’t have to look good. And there was no ubiquitous media to pick on every little mistake.’

As he talked about the televised debates that are set to come on as the 2024 election proceeds, Maher shared what he thought about Donald Trump.

‘And I don’t think he’s going to look good. Yes, Trump is old, too, but Trump is like KISS. He puts on the face, paint in the wig. And he looks the same as he did in 1978.’

Maher went on to say that James Carville, an American political consultant told him that ‘any centrist Democrat around 50 or 60 would get 55% of the vote’, which Maher then said he believed.

Unlike his talk about old age, Maher recently grilled Ron DeSantis, 45, on his show as the governor insisted that he can beat Donald Trump to the Republican 2024 presidential nomination.

Maher, who found that comical then joked that the Florida governor would not be allowed back on his show if his campaign was doing well.

He labeled DeSantis ‘crazy’ to run at such a young age and questioned why he would go against the popular figure of former president Trump.

However, DeSantis insisted he could win and claimed he could be the person to ‘actually get the job done’.

‘You’re trying to thread this needle that will never happen. You can’t disavow him because that’s the base, and yet you’re running against him.

‘And that’s why, I mean, let’s face it Ron, if the campaign was going well, you wouldn’t be on this show,’ said Maher.

The Florida Governor hit back and said: ‘That’s not true. One: I don’t think he can win the election. I could win the election. Two: I don’t think he could actually get the job done that we need to do.’

According to Mediaite, despite concerns with age, like Maher has, no Democrat has come up with an alternative option for President Biden.

CNN reported from a recent poll that, ‘82% of Democrats concerned about his age couldn’t name an alternative, and no candidate got more than 3 percent from those who did provide a name.’
