Who will WIN Love Island 2023? Psychologists reveal the most compatible pair ahead of the

Love Island is on the horizon once again, with 10 hot singletons heading to the villa on Monday.

Its tears and tantrums have become a staple of summertime, with many ditching a night in the pub garden to watch the latest drama unfold.

While contestants may not put their eggs in one basket, MailOnline has asked an expert to hedge their bets on the winning couple before the show even starts.

Psychologist Dr Louise Goddard-Crawley assessed body language and attitude to make all sorts of predictions based on the early teaser footage released by ITV.

So, where’s your head at? Get ready for a rundown of all things muggy in our exclusive Love Island predictions.

COULD TYRIQUE AND RUCHEE BE THE WINNING COUPLE?

Dr Goddard-Crawley believes this pair could have some chemistry based on their similarities.

She said: ‘Tyrique and Ruchee indeed appear to have potential compatibility as a couple.

‘Both individuals demonstrate a strong and robust ego, indicating a healthy sense of self-assurance and confidence.’

George: Imposter syndrome?

George, 24, is a ‘cheeky chappy’ from Bedford who just ‘loves dropping game’.

The Business Development Executive claims he has the ‘gift of the gab’, tailoring his chat to any situation – whether it be TikTok with Gen-Zers or Bingo with ’40 to 50 year olds’.

Yet beneath the guise of confidence, Dr Goddard-Crawley claims there could be some confidence issues at play.

She told MailOnline: ‘I wonder if George may grapple with some feelings of imposter syndrome when he is on Love Island.

‘Despite his confident words, there appears to be a discrepancy between his verbal expression and his non-verbal cues and overall demeanor.’

Ella: Disconnected from reality?

This 23-year-old from Glasgow is looking for a man ‘above six foot’ who won’t take her for granted.

Stunner: Glaswegian model Ella Thomas 23, is also set to bring her award-winning looks to the villa

Glaswegian model Ella Thomas 23, is also set to bring her award-winning looks to the villa

‘You know when people ask like “what’s your love language?” Mine is literally all of them. I just love it when guys like sell me a dream,’ she told the show.

‘I would say I am a bit high maintenance. Sometimes I just feel like I’m living in my own movie and I’m the star.’

While it appears Ella is ready to crack on, Dr Goddard-Crawley wonders if her romantic ideals are a bit disconnected from reality.

‘There appears to be a noticeable disconnection observed in Ella’s perception of relationships, suggesting that she may become engrossed in the idealised fantasy of what a relationship should be rather than acknowledging its reality,’ she told MailOnline.

‘Effective communication will be crucial for Ella during her time on love island. She might possess certain expectations regarding how she deserves to be treated or what constitutes a healthy relationship, yet she may struggle to express these needs confidently.’

The psychologist also believes that Ella could be masking insecurities as she boldly sells herself as the ‘full package’.

She continued: ‘In describing her own self-worth, Ella displays a lack of connection as she frequently masks what she is saying with laughter, seemingly attempting to downplay the significance of her statements/ how she really feels about herself.’

Mehdi: A perfect match?

Hunky: Next in the line-up is hunky French model Mehdi Edno who 'always gets what he wants'

Hunky: Next in the line-up is hunky French model Mehdi Edno who ‘always gets what he wants’

Medhi is a six-foot-two man from France, and despite being single for more than two years, this 26-year-old claims he always gets what he wants.

‘I’m so excited to be in the villa because I can bring fire and make girls fall in love with me, ‘ he said.

While this may give you the ick, Dr Goddard-Crawley believes Medhi really could have the power to win Ella’s heart.

The psychologist noticed that Medhi maintains strong and consistent eye contact with the camera, portraying a sense of ease.

She told MailOnline: ‘The potential pairing of Mehdi and Ella could indeed create a compelling couple dynamic. Both individuals seem to have a tendency towards dopamine-driven attachments, where the initial excitement and thrill of a relationship play a significant role.

In such a relationship, the intensity of the dopamine-driven attachments may be in control, potentially overshadowing a deeper understanding of each other’s needs and values.

‘This could result in a relationship that is primarily focused on the excitement and thrill, rather than fostering a strong foundation of emotional connection and compatibility.’

Molly: Drawn to the drama?

While Molly sings, dances and acts in her work life, she claims the drama doesn't translate to her personal life

While Molly sings, dances and acts in her work life, she claims the drama doesn’t translate to her personal life

Molly, 21, is a musical theatre performer who lives on a farm in Doncaster.

While Molly sings, dances and acts for work, she claims the drama doesn’t play to her personal life.

‘I don’t drink, I don’t use dating apps. It’s literally a problem for some people and it’s like “you’re a party pooper”, “you’re boring”. But that’s not the case.

‘But that’s not the case. I am very fun and very outgoing.’

With numerous tattoos and a pet chicken called Coccaleta, Dr Goddard-Crawley picked up on Molly’s connection to the natural world.

‘I was struck by the presence of earthy and natural elements, which also seem to align with her descriptions of her physical appearance,’ she told MailOnline.

‘However, a noticeable contrast emerges when it comes to her fashion choices, where she tends to adopt a more “out there” and “theatrical” tendencies.

‘This incongruity could suggest a potential disparity between her internal sense of self and the image she projects outwardly.’

Dr Goddard-Crawley believes Molly may be attracted to other more theatrical characters on the island, but warns they may be ‘confined to the realm of public image’.

Andre: Most competitive?

This ‘top grafter’ warns that his ‘wandering eye’ may stir the pot on this season of Love Island.

Here he is: Economics graduate and clothing brand entrepreneur Andre Furtado, 21, from Dudley has signed up

Andre, 21, from Birmingham claims he will be ‘the life’ and ‘centre of attention’ as he takes the villa by storm.

‘Any toes that I’ve got to step on – sorry but- I’m gunna have to tread on them,’ he said.

With that in mind, Dr Goddard-Crawley believes Andre could be one of the more competitive contestants this summer.

But it’s questionable whether he is being his authentic self in the teaser clips released.

‘The notion of “grafting” and the competitive nature associated with it suggests that Andre adopts a mindset of putting in whatever it takes to win over someone’s affections,’ she told MailOnline.

‘Notably, when discussing the concept of a “wifey,” he tends to avert his gaze from the camera, potentially indicating some hesitancy or lack of complete conviction.

‘This perspective may stem from past experiences of being hurt or having his trust broken.’

First Love Island stars REVEALED: Beautician Ruchee Gurung, 24, from Sutton was the first on the the list of sexy singles revealed to be entering the villa for 2023 summer series

Ruchee claims to have an unexpected ‘fiery’ personality and warns that people ‘shouldn’t try [her]’

Ruchee: A strong contender?

Despite being petite, Ruchee claims to have an unexpected ‘fiery’ personality and warns that people ‘shouldn’t try [her].

‘Me and my girls are like FBIs,’ the 24-year-old beautician from Sutton said.

‘I can find out things like this  – you won’t even know, I’ll know your grandma’s name already.’

Drawing to her body language, Dr Goddard Crawley believes Ruchee’s strong sense of self is sincere and not just a show for the cameras.

‘Ruchee stands out as a contestant who exudes a strong sense of self-assurance while also maintaining a level of vulnerability,’ she told MailOnline.

‘This combination of strengths positions Ruchee as a strong contender on the show and increases her potential for success in forming meaningful relationships.

‘Her ease and comfort with herself are evident in both her verbal expressions and non-verbal cues. There is a noticeable congruence between her words and body language, suggesting an alignment between her thoughts, emotions, and actions.’

Tyrique: A potential winner?

This footballer is not just a player on the field, with ‘commitment issues’ he’s not afraid to admit.

‘I’m scared. It’s vulnerable putting yourself out there, do you know what I mean?’ Tyrique, 24, told the show.

‘One time I was on a date and the girl fell down the stairs. And I just couldn’t look at her the same ever since.’

Despite dodging relationships, Dr Goddard-Crawley believes Tyrique could win the show with Ruchee as they both show a ‘healthy sense of self-assurance’.

She said: ‘Tyrique and Ruchee indeed appear to have potential compatibility as a couple. Both individuals demonstrate a strong and robust ego, indicating a healthy sense of self-assurance and confidence.

‘This shared strength can serve as a foundation for mutual support and understanding. If they are able to nurture and care for each other’s vulnerabilities, they could develop a strong bond built on trust and emotional intimacy and make one another feel safe in a way they both seem to long for but have yet to find.’

Yet, a potential challenge for the couple could be Tyrique’s vision of what’s perfect, having harshly judged the girl who fell down the stairs.

She continued: ‘This self-protective strategy could stem from his understanding of the difficulties that come with opening up and being emotionally exposed.’

Catherine: Lack of experience?

Stunner: 'Fun, flirty and chatty' Catherine Agbaje, 22, a Commercial Real Estate Agent haling from Dublin is also on the roster

Dublin-born Catherine is heading to the villa despite never having been in a relationship

Dublin-born Catherine is boldly heading to the villa despite never having been in a relationship.

‘In the Love Island villa I’ll be fierce, I’ll be confident, I will be funny, I’ll be myself,’ the 23-year-old real estate agent said.

‘When I flirt, I just have to give people the eyes, open my mouth and say a few words. And they’re like “oh my god where are you from?”‘

Yet, Dr Goddard-Crawley wonders if Catherine may struggle in the island given her lack of previous relationships.

‘Catherine presents herself as a competent and desirable contestant, adept at attracting and seducing potential partners,’ she told MailOnline.

‘However, concerns for me arise regarding her ability to form more meaningful connections due to a perceived lack of clarity about her own desires and values.’

Jess: Superficial?

Jess, 22, loves a smooch and warns that flirting sometimes gets her into trouble

Jess, 22, loves a smooch and warns that flirting sometimes gets her into trouble

This 22-year-old loves a smooch and warns that flirting sometimes gets her into trouble.

‘Someone who is not a good kisser, that is just not for me. What do they say? Like a sloth not a lizard, Jess, from London, told the show.

‘I want to be that young MILF, you know, the one that takes their kids to school in the Range Rover.’

Dr Goddard-Crawley predicts that this aesthetics practitioner will bring fun and excitement to the experience.

But she warns that a focus on surface-level attributes could also lead to some tensions.

It seems that Jessica places greater value on external appearances rather than delving into deeper emotional connections,’ Dr Goddard Crawley told MailOnline.

‘This is exemplified by her idealisation of being a “milf” with children and a Range Rover, rather than prioritising the development of a meaningful relationship.

‘Jessica’s values may align more with pursuing a successful career or a glamorous lifestyle rather than prioritising romance.’

Mitchel: Vulnerable?

Happy days: Hunky Mitchel Taylor is vowing to bring his gentlemanly charm

Despite seeming ‘arrogant’ to many, Mitchel, 26, claims he is a ‘nice guy’ with a ‘massive heart’

Despite seeming ‘arrogant’ to many, Mitchel, 26, claims he is a ‘nice guy’ with a ‘massive heart’.

‘People see the handsome face, the good body, the nice car, the good job and just think “he’s a f*** boy”,’ the gas engineer from Sheffield said.

‘I love being a flirt – it’s just fun. But I’m 100 per cent a relationship type of guy. As soon as I’m out one, I want to be back in another one.’

With this in mind, Dr Goddard-Crawley believes that Mitchell could actually be quite vulnerable.

She said: ‘Mitchell demonstrates a notable inclination to mask his vulnerability through a projection of arrogance. However, underneath this façade, there appears to be a genuine understanding within him-self that the most valuable aspects of his identity lie in his natural and authentic qualities.

‘Mitchell may develop a stronger sense of self and a greater ability to forge genuine connections with others. However, Mitchell may tend to rely on his arrogant image as a means of self-protection.’

So, who is the most compatible pair?

Dr Goddard-Crawley Tyrique and Ruchee could be the winning couple, based on their similarities.

She said: ‘Tyrique and Ruchee indeed appear to have potential compatibility as a couple.

‘Both individuals demonstrate a strong and robust ego, indicating a healthy sense of self-assurance and confidence.’
